Off-Season Training

I define off-season training as the time between race specific training and it encompassing these scenarios.

Between racing seasons.

Usually track and cross-country if youโ€™re a high school or college runner. This could also be for those runners who take the winter or summers off from race preparation.

Between marathons.

If you’re over 12-16 weeks away from your next marathon you probably need a break from marathon specific training.

Taking a break between races because you have life things to take care of and want to be ready when the time comes.

During the off-season we focus on:

๐Ÿ—ธ building a mileage base
๐Ÿ—ธ time management to build a routine
๐Ÿ—ธ addressing weaknesses
๐Ÿ—ธ developing new habits
๐Ÿ—ธ goal setting to keep on the right path
